For Everyone Else (i.e. THE NON COMPLAINERS)

To everyone else who reads my blog (which I can hardly count myself in that category anymore!):

I heart you all for the following reasons:

1) You read my blog and think enough (or not enough) of me to comment. How lovely! I complain about something, and you get to respond! What a fantastic world we live in! (And although that sounds VERY sarcastic, it is not meant to be in the slightest.)

2) I have been trying not to be so down & out on the blog lately, and as I was discussing with The Doc last night, I have a very hard time writing when I am happy. I only have something to say when I am sad. When I am happy, I am usually out doing something that does not involve writing anything, such as going to Portland with friends or missing an awesome three day music festival.

3) Your comments make me want to be a better person.

(Who am I kidding? They don't. And they certainly don't make me want to read any children's vampire books any more, either.)

For Heather

If I prick you (hee hee, I said prick) then you do bleed, as I have seen you do many times BECAUSE WE LIVE TOGETHER, FOO!

I also heart you for the following reasons:

1) IN SPITE OF FORGETTING ABOUT BONO, you saw U2 with me. It is like going to Spain with me. Oh, wait, we did that too.

2) You put up with my blubbering when I need it (which seems like on a daily basis).

3) You put up with pretty much everything I do, from blowing my nose obnoxiously loud to not drinking milk as avidly as you & Mr. Heather do.

4) You have killer puppies.

For Amanda

I heart you; let me count the ways.

1) You always call me on my shit.
2) You complain about not being mentioned in my blog.
3) You could care less that I could have gotten some from (possibly) my future husband.
4) You are Miss Amanda, soon to be Mrs. Amanda.

And I didn't get very many good pictures from the weekend. Honestly, you saw them on my facebook. Seriously lame.

Things That Were Hilarious, But Not So Much Now That I Think About It

This weekend was a complete and total blast. Amanda decided for her 30th birthday (was I not supposed to mention that, Amanda?) she and Curtis would go on a trip. And she would invite some of her closest friends. I think at one point the invite list included her third grade teacher and her cousin's friend's dog, once removed.

Amanda told me of this weekend adventure when I visited her at Christmas. I was in. An entire weekend of drinking with my college buddies? Twist my arm.

So this was the weekend. We went. We saw. We conquered. And by conquered, I mean we conquered the keg. 'Til I was ready to burst!

Here are a few pictures to show you what an amazing time we had. We stayed at McMenamin's Edgefield in Troutdale, OR. (Which is synonymous for "terrible service" in some foreign languages, such as French and Zulu.)

But, to the title of my entry. Things that were hilarious, but are not so much now.

1) Matt: "It wasn't the menage a trois so much, but really the diarrhea."

2) Micaela: "The only thing I am naturally good at is being rad."
3) Curtis: "Ninety, ninety, ninety, ninety. Ninety." "Ninety." And then a few seconds later, "Ninety."

OK, never mind, they really are hilarious now, too. I truly had a fantastic time; I only offended once during the weekend (that I know of) and I hope that everyone else had a fantastic time doing whatever it was that they were doing!!!

Tracy's Brithday with Cake

So, Tracy is having another birthday, as we all do during the year at some point. And this year, when I asked Tracy what she wanted, she wanted to go see Cake play at The Nugget. I said, "Whatever you want. It is YOUR 21st birthday." (Of course she is 21! And I am 20. Leave us alone.)

So, we donned our partying outfits, got there early and had ourselves a good time. With no boys allowed!

First, we went to Great Basin Brewery for a very nice meal consisting of meats and beer. I loves me the meats and beer.

Then, we went inside and had ourselves a drink. When I ordered my libation, (a Bombay and tonic, please!) I thought I would get a typical casino drink: watered down, with a lot of ice to water it down even more. However, I was pleasantly surprised when the lovely bartender actually poured a drink that had some legs to it. And boy, do I mean legs! Tracy went to get hers watered down with some more 7, and she was drinking a 7 & 7. Anyhoo, needless to say, the bartenders at The Nugget know how to pour a drink. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that John Ascuaga is Basque, and as we all know, Basques know how to DRINK!

Next, we proceed into the Rose Ballroom. We are in the second row, and are happy with our positions. We hang out. Take turns going to the bathroom. Watch the kick ass opening act, Agent Ribbons. Wait for Cake to come on stage, and then they do, and we have a kick ass time singing and dancing. (I, apparently, am very fun to go to concerts with because I go with the flow and appreciate live music. Hence the rock star boyfriend.)

Cake leaves the stage. People begin chanting, "Cake. Cake. Cake." Cake comes back onto the stage. They start playing their second act. I feel a tap on my shoulder and a girl is there, and she says to me, "Can my boyfriend and I stand in front of you?"

Now, mind you, by this time Tracy and I have milled our way to the front, mainly because some people have decided to leave early to beat the traffic. Fine by me, because that means I get to be in the front row. The best place ever to be in a concert. And this girl has the nerve, nay the balls, to ask me if she can stand in front of me? Oh, no you didn't.

I said, "You want to stand in front of me, at a concert, so I can't see? No, I don't think so."

Her reply: "But we're really big fans."

My reply: "If you're such big fans, then why the hell didn't you get here early like the rest of us?"

Needless to say, Tracy and I were in fighting mode instantly. No one gets in front of us at a concert unless they were there first!!!

In all actuality, it was a nice ending to the night because Tracy and I got to feel like we were tough and important. And it was Tracy's birthday after all.
